Inside The Sanctuary
A national park on the Gulf of Thailand. The environment is the first piece of the system.
21 rooms. Small group. By application only.
Why the environment matters
The location is the system.
Sam Roi Yot is a hidden corner of Thailand, not overrun with tourists or distractions. For anyone looking for presence and clarity, it's hard to beat. The mountains, the sea, and the national parks behind it, there's something real about being here that goes beyond the facility itself.
Most people leave their normal lives thinking they need more. Here you get less, and you don't realise what that's worth until you've felt it. You don't need more energy drinks, more coffee shops, more places to eat. Fewer options is more life.
That's why we don't treat the location as a backdrop. It's the first part of how this works. Put the same week in a city and it falls apart by the end of day one.
Operating since October 2024. The facility has been running since 2010, refined and rebuilt into what it is now.
I. The Training Floor
It's an open-air gym with a view of the mountains, the fields and the cattle beyond them. No air-con, no fans, just the space and the air. The equipment is the real thing, everything functional you can think of, plus the machines that let you build serious strength, size and muscular endurance. Concept2 cardio, barbells and dumbbells, wall balls, sandbags, the prowler, free runners, safety-squat bars, med balls, battle ropes. Whatever the work needs is here.
There are mirrors around the room and a speaker you can connect and play whatever you need to hear. This is where the Physical Standard happens, and where you put in the extra work when you want it.
For physical capability and the daily Standard.
II. Combat Area & Boxing Rings
Combat is one of the fastest ways to grow, and it ties straight back to neuroplasticity. As a founder, the real gain is the confidence that comes from knowing you can hold yourself together and make decisions under pressure. You don't just learn it here, you put it into practice.
Combat doesn't only mean war, it also means play. You learn to stay relaxed under pressure and then apply force when it's needed, and that carries over into almost everything else you do. Two full-size rings, all the equipment, bags and pads, and coaches who've operated at the top of the sport.
For decision speed and capacity under pressure.
III. Strength & Functional Fitness
Strength is the base everything else is built on. Not because of how it looks, but because of what it holds up. A strong body gives you more energy to spend on the work, more capacity before you tire, and a frame that carries you for the long run rather than breaking down under the pressure you put it through.
Most people chase strength as the goal. Here it's the foundation, the thing that makes the training, the combat and the long days possible in the first place. Build it properly and everything above it gets easier.
For the Physical Standard and capacity.
IV. The 20-Metre Pool
Twenty metres, on-site, and a real working pool rather than something to look at. It's there for conditioning, for active recovery between sessions, and for the days when the best thing for the body is simply being in the water after a long morning on land. Open from dawn, deep enough to swim proper laps, cool enough to reset you. Most of the day it sits empty, which is part of why it works.
For conditioning, recovery, and the reset between blocks.
V. Sauna
The sauna is part of the training, not an add-on to it. Heat exposure helps the body adapt faster, supports your cardiovascular system, and sets you up for deeper sleep that night. It feels good, and it earns its place for what it does rather than how it looks.
For adaptation, recovery, and sleep.
VI. Ice Bath
Used after sessions, usually paired with the sauna. Cold exposure does its work in three to five minutes, so there's no need to make a performance of it. You get in, you breathe, you let the system settle, you get out, and you train again the next day. The benefit is in doing it consistently, not in how it looks.
For recovery and nervous-system control.
VII. Round One Coffee
Round One is the coffee shop and restaurant on-site, and it's the meeting point for everyone. Before the run and after it, before training and after, for breakfast, lunch, dinner and whatever else. It's the one spot people pass through all day, so it's where the talking happens, the casual stuff between sessions that turns into the real conversations and the connections you didn't plan on.
For coffee, food, and the people you meet over both.
VIII. The Coworking Floor
There's proper workspace on-site with fast, reliable wifi, so you keep running your business while you're here. The day is built around the training, and the work fits into the space around it, which sounds backwards until you feel it. You come off a hard morning clear-headed instead of drained, and the focused hours after that are worth more than a full day spent grinding at home with nothing else holding you up.
For focused output and the hours that matter.
IX. The Rooms
Private, en-suite, and genuinely comfortable. A calm space that's yours at the end of the day, to work in, to unwind, to sleep properly. There's no TV, by design, because the best of this place is outside the room, and the room is what lets you go out and meet it rested. You sleep well here, and you wake up ready.
For deep sleep and proper recovery.
X. The Kitchen
The food is simple. Real ingredients chosen for how they make you perform, without giving up on taste. No MSG, no seed oils, nothing refined, and everything freshly prepared on cast iron or stainless steel. What surprises most people is the taste, you actually taste whole food again, properly, maybe for the first time in years.
We spend so much attention on the training and almost none on what we eat, when food is doing the quiet work underneath all of it. For a lot of people it ends up being one of the biggest takeaways from the whole experience, not the part they expected to remember.
For energy, recovery, and actually enjoying it.
XI. Mountain & Sea
The morning run goes out into this, the mountains on one side, the sea on the other, the national park right behind us. It's not a view you look at through a window, it's the ground you actually cover. Some days the reset is the climb, some days it's standing in the sea after a hard session and letting everything settle. Having both on the doorstep means the landscape does part of the work, the open space pulls you out of your head in a way four walls and a treadmill never will.
For the run, the reset, and getting out of your own head.
The Chef
Nutch cooks everything to order, all day. There are no fixed meal times and no set menu you're working around, you eat when your body needs it and it's made fresh when you ask. Having someone who cooks this way on-site is what makes the standard hold, every plate, every day, without you having to think about it.

Community
The room is the product.
The people who end up here are the kind who don't coast. Founders, operators, athletes, people who've built something or are in the middle of building it, and that does something to a room. You train next to them, eat next to them, work next to them, and their standard rubs off without anyone making a point of it. Nobody's here to drift, so you don't drift either.
What comes out of it is real. People leave with friendships, with people they end up working with, with a few who become the ones they call when something's hard. For a lot of guests that turns out to be half the reason they come back, not the training or the place, but the people who were in the room with them.
For the standard you keep by being around it.
A returning guest
“Sam Roi Yot and Thybrid are the perfect place to lead a team from. My health and my productivity have skyrocketed.”

Came for one month. Returned.
What is not here
There's no television in the rooms, because the best of this place is outside them. There's no buffet and no fixed mealtimes, the food is cooked to order when your body actually wants it, not dumped out on a schedule. There are no seed oils, no MSG, no refined sugar in the kitchen, because we'd rather you felt the difference than read about it. And there's none of the noise you came here to get away from, the traffic, the screens pulling at you, the constant low hum of a city that never settles.
None of this is missing because we couldn't manage it. It's gone because the place works better without it. What's left is the stuff that actually moves you forward, and a lot more room to feel it.
Every application is read personally.
